The muffling sound of the alarm clock made Chucky slowly wake up from his deep sleep, the space around him was very dark. The more he woke up he figured out where he was again, in Esther’s bed underneath her blankets. He had such a deep sleep he dreamt he was in a whole new world. It has been a very long time since he could sleep like that in a actual bed. After years of sleeping in boxes, against walls, or on floors, the feeling of a comfortable bed was alien to him.

He peeks his head out of the covers to look around the dark room. He already Esther was up, she had to get ready for school. A light at her mirror catches his eye. He rubs his eyes to see her clearly. She was sitting in front of her mirror. Looking at her self. She has never gotten ready for school in here before. His eye brows raised some as she slipped out of her night gown. He simply watched as she tightened her wraps around her chest. Being the man that he is, his eyes wandered up and down her body again. How could he be so blind? Even though she had some sort of growth condition he couldn’t understand he could clearly see the woman in her. Looking at the curves of her body made his mind twist.

Esther puts on her school clothes and ties her ribbons on. Unaware that Chucky is watching her. He laid silently watching her now apply her make up. Her anatomy peeked his interest. How could something so cute and beautiful be so deceiving? He also couldn’t get over how she said she killed a few men, and said it with a straight face. He really wanted to talk to her about that. His thoughts stopped as he heard her hum a low beautiful melody from deep within her chest. Applying her make up with careful gracefulness.  Chucky caught himself, now gazing at her through the dark room. Her whole being was of a lie. To get what she wants. Just like his purpose.

There was a light knock at the door. Chucky quickly goes into his default mode just in case it was Max waking up early to play. He hears Esther put her make up away with her paint in her dresser and quickly walk to the door. He hears another woman’s voice. It was Kate, making sure Esther was ready for school. He just listens as she scrambles to get her books. After moments of silence he thought she had left but was quickly greeted by her face as she pulled the covers slightly off of him. “I’ll be back Chucky” she whispers sweetly to him in the dark.

Realizing that Kate was watching them he blinks his eyes a few times and looks up her, “I’ll be here!” he said in his cheerful good guy voice.

Esther smiles at him and leans in to kiss his forehead, then quickly leaves and closes the door behind her. Chucky lays there for a while before getting up. The beginning part of his day was always his favorite in the Coleman family so he never slept in. once the children and husband were gone. He followed Kate around the house. He knew her dirty secret. When she was alone. She retreated into drinking and then spends the rest of her day in a bad mood. He’s been following her patterns, when she is ready to get a glass of wine. she drinks the whole bottle by herself and then goes out later and buys a new one so John doesn’t notice one is missing. But before she can take her drinks. Chucky poisons the one she is going to drink.

Oh how he enjoys watching her obliviously drinking down those potent toxins and then later getting sick and throwing up. She thinks it’s just the alcohol making her feel lousy. His plans hasn’t changed just because Esther revealed her true self to him, she is just the one he is keeping alive. He is planning on killing the whole Coleman family. For his own personal pleasure. Kate is the first to go. She was miserable anyway. Why not put her out of her misery? He laughed evilly to himself, watching her drink down each glass of poisonous wine. He hides in the shadows and follows her closely, watching as she slumps and turns green. Throwing up all over the house, laying and moaning in pain, but still drinking that wine.

As he follows her he keeps his mind wrapped around Esther… or Leena. What would he do with her once he had finished off the whole family? She would be an orphan again. Even though she was a grown woman. She didn’t want to be caught. Which he could understand. But what really boggled his mind is how obsessed she was over John, it seemed a selfish that she was just chasing him and expecting him to love her for who she is and marry her. She should know that wasn’t going to happen. It was human to want companionship. But not by someone who is oblivious of your wants.

John wasn’t good enough for her any way. Always so wrapped in making Kate happy then getting all depressed when she would reject his wants. He didn’t see Esther as nothing but his adopted Daughter. It was so clear. Chucky knew he could be a better man and satisfy what she wants….. As he thought he found himself feeling jealous. Why would he even try to think in that direction? Leena doesn’t want a doll. She wants a man to grow old with, it has just been a while since Charles thought about his own sexual advances since his last marriage failing nine years ago.

But one thing he couldn’t deny. Looking and seeing Leena for the first time in her real self. Left him feeling utterly attracted to her. He loved her deceiving lie. He felt new feelings arise from the pit of his stomach, he had to stop following Kate to have a private moment to himself so he could think about Leena freely. And let his deep thoughts blossom about her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the day went on the kids finally came home, and Kate had gotten over her sickness and cleaned up the house of her throw up. Charles went back to his spot in the bed. Anxious to see Leena. He hears her door open and fast steps enter the room, It was Max. Coming to pick him up and hug him like she does every day. Once she has him she races to her room and sets him on the floor with her other toys that she had been playing with the previous day. He stayed in his default mode and watched the young girl pretend to have tea party with him and her other dolls. She also attempted to feed him fake food, which one time he accidently ate one out of hunger. He now knows color will never make up for the flavor of something. They played for a while and talked back and forth to each other, even though she was mute, she making signs to him, trying to talk, he watched her hand movements carefully, and would say something to her in his good guy voice when she took a long pause. He knew she couldn’t hear him. But he kind of like to amuse her, none of her other toys talked or moved at all. But he only responded to her when they were alone.
A little bit later Charles just started day dreaming as Max played amongst her self. Now preoccupied with one of her other toys. He woke up out of his day dream when he was suddenly lifted off the floor. It was Esther, she signed something to Max after wrapping chucky by his waist in her other arm and took Max’s hand.
They all went down stairs where the rest of the family was sitting in the living room. Kate had sat out some paper and scissors and a origami book. So the kids could have some bonding time together. Esther sat Chucky next to her and Max as they sat down to get ready to play with the paper. Daniel was there too but he didn’t look too happy to have to do this with Esther. She just ignored him and opened the book to see which origami she wanted to try. John participated too and helped out max with understanding how to do it.
Kate couldn’t join. She was too sickly to feel like making paper animals. Chucky smiled on the inside, feeling proud at the pestilence he caused her to feel. Foolish woman.
“Daddy help me.” Esther purred sweetly to John when Kate left the room. He quickly knelt by her side as she pretended to not understand the instructions. He carefully helped her make and fold a paper giraffe. Esther made sure her hand would occasionally touch his as they folded the animal together.
Chucky watched in envy. That she was still attached to that man. His mind swirled with hatred and jealousy, he kept wondering how hard John would splat if he pushed him off the roof later. And the way he made that giraffe was terrible, it looked like a retarted unicorn. He spat in John’s coffee when he sat it down next to his face. “Thank you daddy.” She kissed him on the cheek after he was done helping her figure it out.
Later on the family ate dinner together, once Kate was feeling better. They discussed school and their little animal projects together. While they were all eating and talking amongst themselves. Chucky sneakily made an origami animal, following the instructions exactly, and doing it very quickly, his smaller fingers made it easier for him to fold things.
Esther was the first to walk back into the living room after she was done eating. She was shocked to see a perfectly wrapped origami giraffe, wrapped in dark red paper, sitting in front of Chucky. She slowly walked to him and knelt beside him. Looking at his perfect creation. She blushed, realizing he had made that for her.
She kept a smile on her face as she made something, without even looking at the book. Once she was done she placed in the palm of his hand. He looked down to see what it was, staying in default. It was a carefully folded heart, with his name on it. He closed his hand around it, feeling a little better inside.
She smiles kissing his cheek and picking him up, carrying her doll up to her room.
Dang, these chapters get better & better. :)
Plus, when the story said 'retarded unicorn', I could have made a spit take while reading it. XD That was hilarious!
